San Luis Obispo County has reported 173 new COVID-19 cases since Nov. 25, bringing the county’s total to 6,219 confirmed cases as of Nov. 27.
The county also reported its 36th COVID-related death Friday. The person was reportedly in their 80s and had underlying health conditions.
According to the Public Health Department, 12 people are hospitalized, including one patient who is in the ICU. Another 950 people are recovering at home and health officials say 5,130 people have recovered.

The location of 11 additional cases is under investigation, and another five are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.
Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
