SLO County adds 114 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

San Luis Obispo County reported 114 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 18,467 confirmed cases as of February 5.

The county also added two new COVID-19 related deaths. To date, there have been 194 total deaths attributed to the virus in SLO County.

Health officials say 45 people are currently hospitalized. Another 969 people are recovering at home and health officials say 17,235 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County is reporting that 18 of the 38 licensed and staffed ICU beds in the county are currently occupied. Eight of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 75 additional cases is under investigation, and another seven are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach, and Nipomo.
