SLO County adds 16 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County added 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 3,332 confirmed cases as of September 17.

Fifteen people are hospitalized, including five patients who are in the ICU.

Another 175 people are recovering at home and 3,113 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 27 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 284
  • Arroyo Grande - 202
  • Grover Beach - 152

  • Pismo Beach - 55
  • Morro Bay - 51
  • Shandon - 34
  • Cambria - 33
  • Santa Margarita - 30
  • Cayucos - 17
  • Creston - 11
  • Cal Poly - 8
  • Avila Beach - 7
  • San Simeon - 6

Another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and Morro Bay.

The pop-up testing clinic at the Morro Bay Veteran's Memorial Building will be open through September 18. It will then move to Atascadero with tests available Mondays through Thursdays from September 21 to October 1.
