SLO County adds 16 new COVID-19 cases

San Luis Obispo County added 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 3,985 confirmed cases as of October 16.

Six people are hospitalized, including one patient who is in the ICU. Another 188 people are recovering at home and health officials say 3,759 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 32 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 294
  • Arroyo Grande - 227
  • Grover Beach - 168
  • San Miguel - 138
  • Oceano - 135
  • Templeton - 132
  • Pismo Beach - 65
  • Morro Bay - 64
  • Los Osos - 62
  • Shandon - 55
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 41
  • Cambria - 36
  • Santa Margarita - 32
  • Creston - 21
  • Cayucos - 18
  • Avila Beach - 9
  • San Simeon - 6

The location of five additional cases is under investigation, and another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
