SLO County reports 185 new COVID-19 cases, 1 additional death

San Luis Obispo County is reporting the death of another person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Public Health officials say the patient was in their 90s and had underlying health conditions.

The county also added 185 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 7,452 confirmed cases as of December 11.

Twenty-three people are hospitalized, including seven patients who are in the ICU. Another 1,168 people are recovering at home and health officials say 6,209 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 46 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The location of 17 additional cases is under investigation, and another 10 are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach, and Nipomo.
