SLO County adds 36 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County added 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 3,815 confirmed cases as of October 8.

Two people are hospitalized. Another 211 people are recovering at home and 3,570 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 31 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • Nipomo - 359
  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 292
  • Arroyo Grande - 222
  • Grover Beach - 165
  • Templeton - 129
  • Oceano - 128
  • San Miguel - 126
  • Pismo Beach - 65
  • Morro Bay - 63
  • Los Osos - 60
  • Shandon - 52
  • Cambria - 35
  • Santa Margarita - 32
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 28
  • Creston - 19
  • Cayucos - 18
  • Avila Beach - 7
  • San Simeon - 6

The location of eight additional cases is under investigation, and another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
