SLO County adds 71 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County added 71 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county's total to 5,321 confirmed cases as of November 17.

According to the Public Health Department, seven people are hospitalized, including two patients who are in the ICU. Another 724 people are recovering at home and health officials say 4,555 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 34 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 294
  • Arroyo Grande - 271
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 213
  • San Miguel - 194
  • Grover Beach - 184

  • Oceano - 150
  • Morro Bay - 81
  • Los Osos - 74
  • Pismo Beach - 72
  • Shandon - 60
  • Santa Margarita - 39
  • Cambria - 38
  • Creston - 28
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) - 21
  • Cayucos - 20
  • Avila Beach - 11
  • San Simeon - 7

The location of 39 additional cases is under investigation, and another four are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
