SLO County adds 79 new COVID-19 cases

San Luis Obispo County added 79 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 5,400 confirmed cases as of November 18.

According to the Public Health Department, nine people are hospitalized, including one patient who is in the ICU. Another 748 people are recovering at home and health officials say 4,608 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 34 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 294
  • Arroyo Grande - 273
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 217
  • San Miguel - 195
  • Grover Beach - 185
  • Templeton - 169
  • Oceano - 150
  • Morro Bay - 81
  • Los Osos - 77
  • Pismo Beach - 73
  • Shandon - 60
  • Santa Margarita - 40
  • Cambria - 38
  • Creston - 28
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) - 21
  • Cayucos - 20
  • Avila Beach - 12
  • San Simeon - 7

The location of 45 additional cases is under investigation, and another four are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay.
