Santa Maria Police investigating two separate Monday shootings

On Monday, December 14th at about 12:10 p.m., Santa Maria Police were notified of a shooting victim who arrived at Marian Regional Medical Center's Emergency Room.

According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the victim sustained a gunshot wound and was treated for his injury.

Law enforcement was then able to determine the shooting occurred in the area of Depot and Chapel Streets shortly before the victim arrived at the hospital.

Later in the evening, at about 7:30 p.m., SMPD responded to shots heard in the area of the 200 block of West Williams.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment, he is currently in critical condition.

Santa Maria Police Department Detectives continue to investigate both shootings and are asking for the public's assistance with information related to the crimes.
