Santa Barbara PD says a wanted Santa Barbara man is in jail after ramming his vehicle into a patrol car on Thursday.

According to a statement, officers identified a previously reported stolen vehicle they thought was unoccupied. Once they approached the car they saw a man reclined in the driver seat. Officers ordered him to get out of the car. However, the driver refused and reversed his car into the unoccupied patrol car. The driver attempted to drive away, but crashed into another car. One of the officers was able to break the driver's window of the suspect's car and used his Taser to stop the driver.

The driver is being identified as 29-year-old Julio Ochoa of Santa Barbara. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on several charges, seven arrest warrants and a parole violation.

Authorities say the driver suffered minor injuries. No officers were hurt in this incident.
