Two Democrats were vying for the 37th District California State Assembly seat.
The 37th District Assembly Member represents nearly half a million people in Santa Barbara County and part of Ventura County, covering Fillmore, Ojai, Santa Paula, Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Goleta, Solvang, and Buellton.
The two candidates on the ballot were incumbent Monique Limòn and David Norrdin.
The latest results show Limòn easily defeating Norrdin with 79 percent of the vote.
Limòn was elected in November 2016.
Norrdin has run for different elected seats in the past, including the Ventura Unified School Board. He is a Ventura resident.
Both candidates advanced from the primary election on June 5, 2018.
Legislators in the State Assembly receive a salary of just over $100,000 a year.
