Carbajal, Caldwell to move on to General Election in 24th District Congressional race

Representative Salud Carbajal will move on to the General Election in November, along with Republican challenger Andy Caldwell.

Carbajal faced two challengers in the March 3 Primary Election -- Caldwell and independent Kenneth Young.

As of 10:30 p.m., Carbajal is in the lead with 50.3%, followed by Caldwell with 45.7% and Young with 3.8%.

Earlier results on Super Tuesday showed Caldwell with a slight lead over Carbajal, 48.7% to 47.8%.

Carbajal was first elected to the House of Representatives for California's 24th District in 2016.

Caldwell is an AM radio show host and Executive Director of the Coalition of Labor, Agriculture and Business (COLAB).

The 24th Congressional District includes all of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties and part of Ventura County.
