Primary results: State Assembly Member District 37

Six Democrats and one Republican were on the primary ballot in the race for State Assembly District 37.

District 37 includes more than half of Santa Barbara County and a portion of Ventura County.

With roughly 1.5% of precincts reporting, early Super Tuesday results show Charles W. Cole, the only Republican in the race, leading with 10,921 votes.

Cathy Murillo follows with 6,772 votes, Steve Bennett has 5,077 votes, Jason Dominguez has 2,628 votes, Elsa Granados has 1,757 votes, Jonathan Abboud has 1,734 votes, and Stephen Blum has 1,174 votes.

The top two vote-getters will appear on the General Election ballot in November.

There is no incumbent in this race. Current Assembly Member S. Monique Limòn is running to replace State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson in District 19.
