Bob Nelson is the new Santa Barbara County District 4 supervisor-elect after running unopposed in the March 3 Primary Election.

Right now, Nelson works for current District 4 Supervisor Peter Adam as District Chief. As part of his job, Nelson advises Adam on policy and budget decisions and manages staff and various projects.

Nelson says he's happy to represent the community and is eager to get to work.

"The reason why I want to do this - I want to give back to the community that's given me a lot," he said. "I'm a local kid who grew up and is raising his family here so it's pretty important to me. I understand the weight of that responsibility and I'm looking forward to working with all the people, voters, constituents in my district to serve them well."

Nelson sees homelessness, roads, county fees, park access, and campaign finance reform as some of the big issues he wants to tackle as supervisor.
