Emergency road work is planned on Highway 41 near Atascadero to repair a collapsing drainage culvert which is creating a sinkhole, according to Caltrans.
The repairs are needed on Highway 41 at Los Altos Road.
Officials say construction will begin on Thursday, August 22.
Construction will take place Sunday through Friday morning during the overnight hours from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. and during the daytime Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m until 2 p.m.
Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes.
Caltrans is warning those residents in the area that construction wlll be noisy. "Nearby residents are encouraged to prepare accordingly," the press release issued Monday said.
The $400,000 project is expected to last several weeks.
