UPDATE (3 p.m.) – Firefighters say forward progress of the fire has been stopped at a 1/2-acre.
Crews are expected to remain on scene for several hours to ensure that all hot spots are extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
(2:07 p.m.) – Firefighters were responding to reports of a vegetation fire in the Arroyo Grande area Friday afternoon.
At 2 p.m., CAL FIRE SLO said about a half-acre had burned in the area of Camino Purisima and Camino Las Ventanas near Talley Vineyards.
CAL FIRE said crews were expected to get a handle on the flames quickly.
