UPDATE (7:30 p.m.) – CAL FIRE says the Eureka fire is 90 percent contained, and crews are expected to clear the scene soon.
The fire burned a little more than 12 acres of grass.
UPDATE (1:55 p.m.) – CAL FIRE reports that the so-called Eureka Fire is holding at just under 10 acres.
Fire officials say air tankers are headed back to base.
UPDATE (1:45 p.m.) – CAL FIRE reports the at Templeton Rd. and Eureka Ln., now called the Eureka Fire, has burned approximately 6 to 7 acres.
ORIGINAL STORY (1:38 p.m.) – CAL FIRE firefighters were responding to a vegetation fire between Templeton and Atascadero on Thursday afternoon.
It was reported at about 1:10 p.m. in the area of Templeton Rd. and Eureka Ln.
CAL FIRE reports an initial two to three acres of grass burning with power lines down in the area.
