One person was injured in a house fire in Santa Barbara Wednesday morning.
Santa Barbara City firefighters responded to the fire around shortly before 7 a.m. on the 200 block of Equestrian Avenue.
Fire officials say the fire broke out in the downstairs unit but the flames moved upstairs, damaging both portions, including an upstairs bedroom.
Officials say one person was burned. They were taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries was not yet known.
Five people were displaced and some people living nearby were evacuated during the fire.
A possible cause of the fire has not been released.
A portion of Equestrian Avenue and Santa Barbara Street remained closed as of 9:30 a.m. while crews continued to mop up and investigate.
