The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is highlighting the concerns of overharvest after they say two people were caught with hundreds of striped shore crabs in plastic bags.
CDFW said two people without fishing licenses were spotted collecting crabs in Estero Bluffs State Park in San Luis Obispo County.
CDFW said they had 351 crabs, which is 281 more than the legal limit.
The people were cited and all the crabs were returned to the ocean alive.
