The Canadian Snowbirds flew into Santa Maria on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s inaugural Central Coast AirFest.
The air show will be held at the Santa Maria Public Airport from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7.
The Canadian Snowbirds will be performing on both days. The squadron is comprised of members of the Canadian Armed Forces. It is the official air demonstration team for the country of Canada.
“I can tell you what you are gonna see is our world famous, unique nine-plane aerobatic team showing you dozens of maneuvers and formations,” said Navy Lt. Michele Tremblay, Public Affairs Officer for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
The Central Coast AirFest will also feature demonstrations by several other pilots and aircraft. The event also includes food vendors, a beer garden, and a kids zone.
Tickets range in price from $5 to $20. Children under 12 are admitted free of charge. Pre-sale tickets are available on the Central Coast AirFest website.
