A Grover Beach dispensary can continue to operate despite a neighboring business’s objections after a San Luis Obispo County Judge shot down an injunction request. An attorney representing Coastal Dance and Music Academy confirmed the legal move on Friday.
The request for an injunction is part of a lawsuit that Coastal Dance and Music Academy filed against Natural Healing Center, a marijuana dispensary.
The injunction asked the court to revoke the city permits issued to Natural Healing Center. The lawsuit claims a dispensary cannot legally operate within 600 feet of their dance studio, which the owners call a “youth center.”
The owners of the dance center are also suing the City of Grover Beach.
While the request for an injunction was denied, an attorney representing Coastal Dance and Music Academy says they plan to go to trial early next year.
