The project to remodel Lompoc High School’s track and football field is $50,000 closer to reality.
CoastHills Credit Union matched $25,000 in community donations to reach that dollar goal and presented the big check Monday afternoon.
The project includes plans for a new synthetic turf field, a nine-lane rubberized track, and space for pole vault, high jump, shot put and other track events.
The entire project is expected to cost $2.4 million and is being paid for with donations and school district funds.
