The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man found dead on an Isla Vista beach over the weekend as Alessandro Esquivel, 20, of Downey, California.
A person walking on the beach found Esquivel’s body near the surf line just east of the Camino Del Sur beach access on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 20.
Sheriff’s officials say a determination on the cause of his death is pending toxicology and lab results, but they say it appears he died recently and there are no obvious signs of foul play.
