SLOPD searching for suspect who stole a military vehicle

(UPDATE: 6:30 a.m.) – San Luis Obispo Police say the stolen Military Troop carrier was located on Thursday at around 2:00 a.m.

Police say an officer patrolling the area of Higuera and Elks found the truck returned to the Central Coast Brewing parking lot, where it was originally stolen.

No damage was reported to the truck, and the owner has been notified.

Police are still searching for the suspect. If you have any information you are asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department.


The San Luis Obispo Police Department is looking for a suspect who stole a Military Troop carrier Wednesday night.

According to police, the 1970 Military Troop carrier was stolen at around 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 24 while it was parked in the Central Coast Brewing parking lot on Higuera Street.

Officials say the suspect was not caught on surveillance video, but they would need to have experience driving this truck due to its unique starting sequence.

The truck is pictured. It is beige in color and does not have license plates.
