An Atascadero teacher got a special surprise from her school Friday on her last day of radiation.
Tiffany Sims teaches at San Benito Road Elementary School. She was diagnosed with breast cancer months ago but made a vow to not miss a day of work this school year.
Friday was her last day of radiation and to celebrate, the school rallied around Sims by wearing pink and celebrating her spirit. Sims said she was extremely surprised by the gesture.
“I just want to thank everybody,” Sims said. “Like I said, I don’t even have words to tell you how grateful and appreciative and they will forever, ever remain in my heart and I hope I can repay them somehow.”
Sims said she will find out her test results soon. She said her friends and family have been the best support throughout her entire treatment.
