State Route 1 at Paul’s Slide will be fully closed overnight for two nights starting Oct. 28 so that construction crews can work on the existing retaining wall.
Caltrans said the highway will be closed Sunday to Tuesday overnight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Road work is expected to be completed Tuesday morning.
Caltrans said anyone driving that direction should plan around these closures.
In January 2017 Paul’s Slide suffered major storm damage, losing part of its embankment including the southbound lane, closing the road for several months.
Caltrans said Paul’s Slide near Limekiln State Park is still active and is frequently monitored.
John Madonna Construction from San Luis Obispo is the construction company working on the project.
