A San Luis Obispo man who was convicted of first-degree residential burglary was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in state prison.
A jury convicted Cole Benjamin Malone, 33, of the offense on October 1.
He was arrested on August 31, 2016, after a homeowner reportedly discovered Malone in his garage in the process of stealing a bicycle. Malone tried to run away but was quickly subdued by the victim and neighbors.
Malone previously served time for a grand theft conviction in 2013.
