Two men arrested on suspicion of rape in Lompoc

Lompoc police arrested two men on suspicion of rape.

According to police, John Robert Castillo Jr., 18, and Michael Austin Rivera, 20, face charges of rape by force or fear, sexual penetration with a foreign object, making criminal threats, and attempted sodomy.

Police say the rape occurred in Lompoc on October 19. The two were arrested on October 26.

Investigators say they know of two victims but believe there may be others.

Anyone who believes they’ve been victimized by the suspects in this case is urged to contact Det. Dugan of the Lompoc Police Department at (805) 736-2341.

Castillo and Rivera were reportedly booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on $100,000 bail each.

They appeared in court on Tuesday but did not enter pleas. They’re due back in court on November 6.
