A small fire broke out near Pappy’s Restaurant in Santa Maria early Monday afternoon.
Santa Barbara County Fire says cardboard boxes were burned in the blaze, which was reported shortly before 12:45 p.m. A nearby car was also damaged.
The cause is under investigation.
The area is off northbound Highway 101 and Betteravia Road near a gas station and truck stop.
