Lompoc police looking for stabbing suspect

Lompoc police are looking for the suspect in a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. in the 700 block of the North 3rd/4th Alley.

Police say the victim was stabbed twice with a box cutter-style knife. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say the victim told them he was walking home when he encountered the suspect, who he identified as Nicholas Andrew Lopez, 26. The victim said he tried to talk to Lopez and Lopez attacked him, then ran off.

Other witnesses corroborated the victim’s story.

Police are asking anyone who has information about Lopez’s whereabouts to contact them at (805) 736-2341. They are also looking for other witnesses or video of the incident.

Lopez is described as 6’3″ tall and 170 pounds with hazel eyes and black hair.
