KSBY teaming up with Si Tenenberg to send care packages to troops

KSBY News is teaming up with Si Tenenberg once again to deliver care packages to troops serving overseas.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, boxes can be picked up at KSBY’s locations in San Luis Obispo at 1772 Calle Joaquin, and in Santa Maria at 731 S. Lincoln St., from 5 to 7 p.m.

Tenenberg asks that people take the packed boxes to the post office and pay for the postage.

Checks can also be dropped off during Thursday’s event to help with shipping costs. Checks should be written to U.S.P.S. Each box costs $17.40 to ship.

Donations to “Helping Soldiers in the Desert” will also be accepted.

Tenenberg has been running his organization now for 12 years. He says nearly 12,000 packages have been delivered to troops in the last seven-plus years. Visit troopcarepacks.org to learn more.
