A Veterans Day ceremony was held Monday at the Guadalupe Cemetery.

“I have a lot of family members who served in the military in World War II and I have a lot of friends and I have a lot of comrades who’ve fallen over the years and so to honor them, honor their families and their commitment to this nation,” said Col. Raymond Clydesdale, 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Last week, 13 members of the Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School Leos Club posted 78 flags at the grave sites of local veterans.

Many of those students attended Monday’s ceremony. One student, Juan Jose Rodriguez, won a $30 gift certificate for his essay on what Veterans Day means to him.
