The Honda dealership in Santa Maria is collecting donations for California wildfire victims.

Accepted donation items include backpacks, toiletries, clothes and blankets.

Once all the items are collected, Honda cars from the lot will be loaded up with the goods to transport to distribution outlets across the Central Coast.

Employees at the dealership thought using the resources they have to give back to victims would be a simple way to spread a little hope to those who lost everything.

“The whole point of this is just to see how many people we can reach to be able to bring aid to those who really need it,” said Edward Tomilloso, internet sales manager at Honda of Santa Maria.

Donations can be brought to Honda of Santa Maria at 2175 South Bradley Road in Santa Maria.

The dealership will be taking donations until 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon to begin the transportation process by 5 p.m. that day.
