Firefighters extinguished a structure fire on Sycamore Road in Atascadero on Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out at around 4:50 p.m. at a residence in the 7100 block of Sycamore Rd.
The fire reportedly started in a pile of items including lawn mowers and string trimmers. The flames spread to the exterior wall of a small studio unit on the property.
The main house was not damaged.
The Red Cross has been called in to help a couple that was displaced by the fire.
