The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon for the Future Business Leaders of America organization on Wednesday.

The event was held at the Abel Maldonado Center in Santa Maria, and brought students from Santa Maria and Orcutt area high schools together to meet with local business owners and entrepreneurs across the Central Coast.

Students could talk to the business professionals about the opportunities to create a successful future through business as a form of mentoring.

FBLA alumni Augustina Cabrera was the guest speaker to talk to the students about her experience in the organization and how she now holds the title of district manager for California Food Management, LLC.

FBLA prepares high school students for future careers in business and is the largest business student organization in the world.
