Officials from the City of Santa Maria will meet on Thursday to discuss the H-2A temporary worker program.
The federal program allows American employers meeting certain requirements to hire foreign nationals for temporary agricultural positions.
The meeting will also address concerns about how the program would affect neighborhoods in the city and the proposition for requiring housing opportunities in undeveloped areas.
Santa Maria officials will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night at the Minami Community Center.
