Friends, family celebrate life of Santa Barbara man killed in Thousand Oaks shooting

Friends and family are celebrating the life of Mark “Marky” Meza jr., one 12 people who died in the Thousand Oaks Borderline Bar & Grill shooting earlier this month.

Meza’s family held a memorial service at the Hilton (Fess Parker) Resort in Santa Barbara Sunday. It was followed by a private burial.

KTLA reports Mark Meza Jr, 20, was a busboy at the Borderline Bar and Grill.

He was an alum at the Carpinteria Unified School District, according to a statement from the district.

In lieu of flowers, the family was asking for donations to the Mark (Marky) Meza Jr. Foundation.
The donations can be sent to Chase Bank at 1924 Cliff Drive in Santa Barbara
