San Luis Obispo’s warming center will reopen on Friday, Nov. 23, because of the rain.
Those needing shelter from the weather are welcome to receive a safe and dry place to sleep and a hot meal.
The center is located at 40 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. Pets are allowed.
The warming center is asking for donations of the following items:
- Large trash bags
- Disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils
- Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar
- Breakfast bars
- Instant Noodle/Cup of Noodles
- Large backpacks
- New socks and warm gloves
- Rain gear/ponchos/umbrellas
Donations can be dropped off at 40 Prado Road. For questions regarding donations, call (805) 544-4004.
Also open on Friday is the 5Cities Homeless Coalition’s winter warming center at Hillside Church, located at 1935 Newport Ave. in Arroyo Grande. It will open at 5 p.m. and remain open until 7 a.m. Guests are asked to arrive no earlier than 5 p.m. and no later than 8 p.m.
The Paso Cares warming center is also reopening on Friday. Guests are asked to arrive no later than 5 p.m. The facility will remain open through Sunday, Nov. 25. It’s located at Peoples’ Kitchen, 2345 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.
