There are only 21 days left until our Season of Hope drive ends, so time is running out to donate to those in need on the Central Coast.

The Santa Maria California Highway Patrol partnered with Walgreens Pharmacy on Saturday for their annual CHiP’s for Kids event. They collected new unwrapped toys to give back to local children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Walgreens gave a discount to anyone who buys a toy from the store and donates to CHiPs for Kids.

“We are right in front of the door, so we are there explaining what we’re doing and why it’s a good idea, just to help some less fortunate kids in the area,” said Public Information Officer Efrem Moor with Santa Maria CHP.

The event may be over, but Santa Maria CHP is still collecting toys.

You can drop them off Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can find other drop-off locations near you here.
