Santa Barbara City Fire Department crews rescued a dog that fell off a cliff in Douglas Preserve Sunday morning.
The call came in around 11:30 a.m. Officials say a dog fell off a cliff and was stranded on a ledge about 125 feet down.
Fire crews assembled a rope system and sent a firefighter with a harness down the cliff to rescue the dog. The two were lowered to the beach below.

Luckily, the dog didn’t appear to have any injuries and was reunited with its owner.

Fire crews say the incident serves as a reminder to use a leash and proceed with caution while walking on steep trails.
