A sign posted in the window says, “It has been a great 5 years, but our lease has ended and we are looking for a new location in SLO.”

Co-owner Karen Staeheli tells KSBY News that the high rent downtown combined with a lack of parking made it a struggle to be profitable.

The business, which was located on Higuera Street, thanked loyal customers in the note and told them to look for a new location at some point soon.

Staeheli says she hopes to open another restaurant in the San Luis Obispo area in the next year.

The sushi restaurant has two other locations that are still open in Paso Robles and South Lake Tahoe. The Paso Robles location is at 807 13th Street.

Staeheli said business in Paso Robles is going strong and she invites her San Luis Obispo customers to visit them in North County.

According to the restaurant’s website, its mission is to bring the best quality fish available to customers.
