Three days after an arrest was made in the disappearance and murder of a Paso Robles woman, authorities are asking for the public’s help to provide additional information about the suspect.

Carlo Alberto Fuentes Flores was arraigned Friday on the charges filed against him the day before in connection to Nancy Woodrum’s murder. He did not enter a plea and the arraignment was continued to January.

The 42-year-old is being held without bail in San Luis Obispo County Jail.

While a motive for the murder has not been revealed by authorities, they have said Fuentes Flores was hired to paint the deck on Woodrum’s property in the week leading up to her disappearance.

Woodrum, a popular hairdresser, was last seen at her rural home on El Pharo Drive on May 4, 2018. Her family reported her missing the next day.

Fuentes Flores was reportedly identified as a suspect after investigators conducted numerous interviews with people who may have come into contact with Woodrum.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson says the suspect led them to the body off Highway 58 in eastern San Luis Obispo County this week.

Fuentes Flores faces charges of murder and special circumstances that allege the crime occurred during a rape or attempted rape and during the commission of a burglary. It also alleges that the murder was premeditated.

Anyone who may have come into contact with Funtes Flores before or after Woodrum’s disappearance is asked to contact the sheriff’s detective division at (805) 781-4500.
