A portion of the Pacific Coast Highway in Southern California is closed.
Caltrans posted Monday morning that mud has covered some of the lanes forcing the closure of the road, also known as Highway 1, between Trancas Canyon Road/Borad Beach Road in Malibu to Las Posas Road in Ventura.
Both directions of the highway are closed.
Residents who provide identification will be allowed in as long as conditions are safe, according to Caltrans.
