The City of Atascadero had their fourth annual Tamale Festival at Sunken Gardens Saturday.
More than 30 tamale vendors showed up, giving people several opportunities to taste a variety of tamales.
Event planner Terrie Banish said the event was created based on what the City of Atascadero had to offer.
“And we thought you know what, with all of our different restaurants in town and all of the cuisines we had it made sense for us to do a tamale festival,” Banish said.
The festival also had a tamale contest, where KSBY reporter Alexa Bertola was a judge.
Banish said next year the festival will be two days long.
