Work is beginning on a section of road in Oceano that’s known to flood during heavy storms.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works, drainage improvements along 13th Street near Highway 1 will include the installation of underground pipe, inlets, cleanouts, and minor sidewalk improvements.
This is reportedly the first phase of the Oceano Drainage Project, which aims to reduce the chronic flooding at that intersection.
Work on the project began on January 22 and is expected to continue into early February.
