The former treasurer for a non-profit organization associated with the Nipomo High School FFA has pleaded no contest to felony embezzlement.

According to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office, Chandra Dee Mehlschau, 48, stole approximately $11,000 from Ag Friends while she was working for the non-profit.

Ag Friends reportedly provides scholarships and other educational opportunities to students interested in the field of agriculture.

The embezzlement occurred between Dec. 15, 2015 and April 10, 2018.

Mehlschau will be sentenced in March. It’s expected she’ll receive a sentence of 90 days in jail and three years probation. She’ll also have to pay restitution for the money that was taken.
