Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire early Tuesday morning.
Fire officials say the call came in at around 6:30 a.m. on Elwood Station Road between Highway 101 and the railroad tracks.
Firefighters say when they arrived a makeshift structure was on fire sending thick black smoke into the sky. The structure fire spread to nearby trees and brush. The structure and all the belongings inside were destroyed.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly and no injuries were reported.
Officials say the railroad and highway remain open, however traffic is moving slowly in the area as fire crews remain on scene cleaning up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
