The first-ever Central Coast Women in Business Expo was held Friday at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.

Forty-six small businesses took part in the event, most of them owned by women.

Organizers hope it will help the businesses with exposure and advertising.

“I want them to be able to express what it means to be an entrepreneur, to be in business. I want the people who are wandering through looking to see what’s actually available, what women are doing in business,” said Anne Cremarosa, organizer of the Central Coast Women in Business Expo.

The expo was hosted by Central Coast Women in Business, a project of the Santa Maria Business Development Center. It hosts semi-monthly meetings on the first and third Fridays of each month from noon to 1 p.m. at the Atrium Santa Maria, located at 731 S. Lincoln St. Anyone interested in business and entrepreneurship is invited to attend.
