A wanted felon was arrested Monday in Goleta after a standoff with authorities.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials say Jacob Dreyer, 28, of Carpinteria had a warrant out for his arrest for violating his probation.
Authorities reportedly spotted him Monday afternoon in the 300 block of Mathilda Dr. and tried to take him into custody but he ran into an apartment and barricaded himself inside.
Sheriff’s officials say people in the immediate area were told to shelter in place during the standoff.
Additional deputies responded and eventually, the sheriff’s office says authorities forced their way through the front door and took Dreyer into custody.
He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on a no-bail warrant.
