The Kinney San Luis Obispo hotel opened its doors Wednesday, welcoming in visitors to the Central Coast.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony showcased the new space with local vendors, music and refreshments.
The hotel offers 100 redesigned hotel rooms and suites. There is also a restaurant called Leroy’s which is an on-site lobby bar and restaurant that features pub grub, beer and wine on tap, and arcade games.
Developers say the goal when building the hotel was focusing on everything San Luis Obispo, including Cal Poly and downtown.
Senior Director Christina Franklin says, “We wanted to honor the university in different ways with different touches by bringing in different history from the university. We have lots of art that speak to that, like black and white vintage photos of the university or San Luis Obispo, and we really just wanted to honor San Luis Obispo and its residents.”
The Kinney SLO is located on 1800 Monterey Street.
